greetings
raistlin
rumor had it I could email you.
Well,
it’s certainly more accurate than some of the other rumors
concerning me that have begun circling around…
awesome. so
anyway, quick couple of questions. firstly, about those eyes.
could you have reversed the curse that par-salian put on you?
did you want to?
I
do not know whether I could have done so or not; I never
tried, but it would have been nice to be able to see something
besides people wasting away and dying again.
secondly when
you were locked in the abyss and the queen put the whooping on
you, did you actually die, or did you end up waking up again
and dying like tacky said?
The
god Paladine mercifully granted me peace in sleep.
crysania seemed
to think you were ok, but then again, she's an idiot. so i
don't know. also i heard gandalf say he could kick your ass.
any thoughts on that?
Gandalf?
He can’t even cast a teleportation spell! Why else do Elijah
and Sean have to walk slowly, in real time, all the way across New Zealand
to destroy that darn ring of theirs?
just what
I heard. ok.
later. tell dalamar
I said he was gay.
Very well.
I’ll tell Jenna and Kitiara as well.
überman.

Ok, so I figured I'd try this out and
see what kind of responses I get. First of all, I'd just
like you to clear up what your true feelings towards bunnies
are. After all, we've seen you as a child to be
comforted by the mention of them. Of course, we've also
heard you make comments that you harbor an extreme dislike
(putting it mildly) for the furry creatures. So, what do
you really think about them?
They
make very good shish kebabs.
Two: Alright, I know you profess
not to love Crysania, and hey I can understand. Sure,
she may be aesthetically pleasing to some degree, but let's
face it, she was way too high and mighty for most of the
Legends series. I'd just like to point out to all those
people out there who say that you getting her out of the Abyss
shows otherwise that there ARE plenty of other explanations.
Perhaps you were going to attempt to find another way out and
use her to regain entrance, this time catching Takhisis more
unawares. You could beat her anyway, but hey, who's
going to argue with an easier battle?
With
the exception of your last sentence (which is clearly
rhetorical), you haven’t actually asked a question.
Three: What do you think of the
several songs about you? I know of a song called
"The Soulforged" by the German band "Blind
Guardian" and it's one of my favorite songs. I'd
just like to know what you think.
I
personally favor “Raistlin
and the Rose,” by
Lake
of
Tears.
Four: My friend and I are currently having two
arguments. One of which is that he says you shouldn't
have been able to change alignments and robe colors, I say
you, being the most powerful mage ever (Gandalf WHO?) can do
pretty much anything. The answer is obvious, but I just
need him to shut up, and since I can't burn holes in his chest
like you did to Dalamar, he'll need an answer from you stuffed
up his...moving on.
Your friend
may be a static character, the sort of boring, unchanging
individual that keeps a reader’s attention for about two or
three chapters at most. I, however, like most real human
beings, am far more dynamic.
Five: Alright, this is my friends question. Could
you explain what you saw in Bupu that garnered her
such favor in your eyes?
Innocence
and guilelessness.
Six: This is the last question, I promise. If
there was to be a movie made out of your life, who would you
choose to play you?
Myself,
of course.

Hey Raist,
I was wondering when and
why you turned to the black robes?
They’re
far more stylish. Red robes are just so passé.
|
|
Hi raistlin. School is almost out and
I was wondering if you would sign
my year book.
Yours truly, dragontooth_sword. (A.K.A. chickens)
Sure,
I’ll sign your yearbook for you. Just mail it to me:
Raistlin
Majere
Tower
of
High
Sorcery, Palanthas,
Solamnia, Ansalon, Krynn
Allow two to four weeks for return delivery.
|
|
hello raistlin,
how are you?
I’m doing
well. And you?
will
you tell me about yourself and things you like to do for
example?
What is this?
Some sort of college application essay? Look, just read the
Dragonlance series, okay?
I am really interested
in you and I been role-playing crysania a lot and love
her to death! ;)
You love
Crysania? Great! Call her up and see if you can get her
interested in you so
she’ll leave me alone.
|
|
I think Dalamar
is quite stupid, for someone smart enough to be your
apprentice.
That's just an opinion of course. What do you think of
Dalamar's (relative) IQ?
Well,
compared to the other individuals with whom I have associated
in the past (Caramon, Bupu, and Crysania among others), I’d
say he’s one smart cookie.
Also, has Tas
ever (literally) driven you crazy?
No,
but figuratively he’s done it numerous times.
Now
I have a question for you... Have you (personally) ever
(actually) asked a question (of someone) without using parenthetical
qualifiers?
|
|
Heya!
I was wondering
if you have any useful tips concerning the seduction of
clerics. I myself
have been trying for years, after reading Legends, and
your wonderful prowess at it has stumped me.
Get
yourself a stylish black robe and you’ll have to start
beating them off with a staff.
Thanks so much
for taking time out of your studies,
Elesime

Greetings
Master,
I
am the Warrior-Bard Aledria. I wish to ask a few
questions.. Though I know a man of your Status has little time
to spend writing to a Nomad as myself... it would honor me if
you do so.
*Muses*
Hmm…a nomad with an Internet connection and an e-mail
account—most interesting indeed.
If
I may be so bold, Which of the Novels would you say is the
best depiction of your true being (ex. Soulforge, Legends,
Brothers Majere, ect.)
The
Soulforge—you
never quite understand a person until you see how childhood
events psychologically influenced him or her.
What moment(s) in your
life should be best immortalized in song?
All of them,
with the exception of anything directly involving Crysania, my
intellectually-challenged twin brother, or my intermittent
coughing/hacking fits.
How would you say your
life is going now after all of the happenings?
Not all that
well…considering that I ended up dead.
Do you have any
regrets?
I should have started
my own tea company.
I'm sorry that is
asking quite enough out of you.
Your
Humble Bard,
Aledria

I tremble in
awe, O Master, that normal denizens of this dimensional plane,
who have had the high privilege to read the chronicles of your
epic quests,
may now actually converse with you!
Wow,
that’s quite a mouthful.
I must admit I am surprised that you
have such an understanding of our technology, but of course
nothing is concealed from the Master of Past and Present.
Has
anyone ever seen Bill Gates and me in the same room? *whistles
innocently*
Although sadly non-magical, I wish to
send you my humble regards, and hope that you are in no worse
than usual health.
My
thanks.
May all your enemies writhe in pain for
eternity,
Now
there’s a farewell message that I really like.
*Raistish laughter*
Your humble servant,
Myeca.
Your
overbearing master,
Raistlin

hi raistlin. I just wanted to know y
u chose dark magic. cause in Dragons Of A Summer Flame, u even
said urself that good magic is stronger, though it does take a
small sacrifice. was it because u didn't want to take that
sacrifice? and what is it? please tell me.
Evil
is the fastest path to power. White Robes must walk before
they can run; thus, even if they do end up running faster,
they have already lost the race.

|
Hey Raist. My
name is Parthen Dracos (translated into Elven Dragon).
I have read a lot of Dragonlance books about you. The most
recent book I
read was Dragons of Summer Flame. I don't want to read any of
the newer
books, because the ending to Summer Flame made me really
angry. You are
amazing. You almost killed Takhisis, man! You died! That's
crazy. I could
never do anything like that. You are so powerful, though.
Yeah,
I was rather bummed out about me dying too…
I was wondering
about you and your brother. How do you guys get along? I
mean, I read about you guys fighting and then making up and
saving each
others lives. It's really hard to understand.
Frankly,
I hardly understand it myself.

Greetings dark lord,
Out of curiosity if you and Elminster
(The Sage of Shadowdale) were to have a mage duel who would
win? I know you two fought in
a Nodwick comic in Dragon magazine but the fight was
interrupted. Just
tell me who you think you win.
*Smiles
sardonically* I don’t know. *Walks to the back of his
laboratory where Elminster is sitting morosely in a cage;
pokes him idly with a long fork; laughs maniacally*

Orcs on Krynn

Greetings oh Dark One.
I'm the Black Robed Mage Rashinai and I was wondering if
you could help me. I need to know where I can find a staff of
my own, and I first wanted to talk to the most powerful magic
user in the universe. If you would like to talk to me or you
can tell me where I can find a good staff please respond.
Undead
spirits make good butlers and dark elves make splendid maids;
I’ll just say that much.
Your faithful servant,
Rashinai the Black One

Raistlin,
I
am writing this letter because (of course) you are my favorite
dragonlance character, and because I have a few questions (I
hope you do not mind). Also, I think that the "stunned
good-hearted former
Raistlin
fan" who was "shocked and appalled by your
behavior" in Time of the Twins had better stop reading
Dragonlance, or at least the books with you. (Of course that
would mean they would only read the more boring books.)
Indeed.
You are not likely to change at their
behest. I think they are an idiot.
They
are an
idiot? You
believe this single individual has multiple personalities, all
of whom are idiotic?
In fact, I know that you stay at more or less the same level
of callousness throughout the entire trilogy. Okay. Now for my
questions.
1. Do you have any idea why you are so
misunderstood? (Maybe that is one of the unanswerable
questions about human nature, but, hey, you can't blame me for
trying.)
I
don’t know. Genius is never properly respected in its own
time.
2. What is evil? (No offense meant, I just thought you
might have a better idea of what evil is than most people,
seeing as you are evil.)
Evil
can be many things. Some possibilities include:
1) The furtherance of one’s own intentions and goals at the
wanton expense of others.
2) Sadism.
3) Overzealous goodness or legality.
4) Corruption of life or innocence.
3. Do you know any mages on Earth who
might be willing to apprentice me? (Yes, I'm desperate.)
If
you honestly expect to find halfway decent mages on Earth,
then yes, you are
desperate. I don’t know of any.
Thank you for reading this e-mail.
You’re
welcome.
Sincerely,
A Raistlin fan who makes an attempt to be
inoffensive
(to anyone she
worships, that is. The key word there is worships.)
That’s
a good key word.
P.S. Does magic even exist on Earth? Would you know if it did?
(Like I said
before, no offense meant.) I am really desperate.
Magic
as an Art? No, sadly. But if you
will
permit me a moment of uncharacteristic sentimentality, I
will
say that there are
some things on Earth that are magical.

Hello Master
Raistlin,
Well, this is certainly a
new experience for me. I'm glad you can't see me (please, no
remarks on how you're glad too). You, of course, are my
favorite character in all of Dragonlance, and have been since
I first read about you. Even my mother knows your name, I've
babbled about you so often (I really do need to get out more).
I didn't know you were in
the third War of Souls book! I am going to have to go and get
it as soon as possible! The hope to read about you is the only
reason I started on the trilogy, but then I didn't read about
you anywhere, I had lost hope of you being in there! I've read
every single story I could find that had you in it, I even
bought that Dragon Magazine issue with your story in it!
Anyway, I have one or two
questions. One is: if you found the right girl, would you
marry her/stay with her. Especially if she had no issues with
your being evil and having way more magic than she could ever
hope for?
It
depends; how well, hypothetically, would she be able to cook
spiced potatoes?
Another: have you ever had
the demented wish to travel to Terra (sorry to all those who
don't call the blue planet this, but I do)? Or have you ever
wanted to travel to other worlds? (I would only suggest
avoiding Ravenloft *shudder*).
No,
I am fairly content to reside in Krynn.
Another question, and this one is
one of the most bizarre, I'm sure. Have you at all recently
(as in the last year or so) gone to look through some cave for
anything? I had a dream where you were looking for, I don't
know what, in a cave. I think it was something magically
important, but I can't seem to remember what. Oh well, just
wondering.
Hmm…that’s
a rather random question. I can’t recall.
One last question (I'm sure
you're thrilled). Have you ever thought of stopping into this
world if only to borrow some of the medicine, like some asthma
medication for you breathing problems? Maybe some singulair,
like I take. It can work really well.
I’ll
stick with my tea.
Okay, well, I'm sure that's more
than enough from me. You are by far my favorite person, and
I've always rooted for you in all the fights you've gotten
into. And I was most definitely yelling for that cleric girl
to get her hands off of you........maybe you shouldn't know
about that one? Oh well, maybe you won't run for the hills.
Take care, and make sure
that demented Goddess stays the hell away from you!
I
shall.
Wish you were mine,
Trisha

Raislin,
*Frowns*
My name has a “t” in it, you do realize.
I must say you are my favorite
characters,
Characters? Now I’m perceived as
having dissociative identity disorder too, is that it?
even though the robes of white are more
my taste.
They
stain too easily.
I do think you are very vain at times,
yet you sometimes show a hint of compassion. I have a few
questions for you.
Why did you not strive for the white robe and bring good
instead of evil to the world?
Because
I wanted power and evil is the fastest path thereto.
Do you fear that one-day you
will
anger Paladine, because of your evil deeds?
No,
I fear no one.
And do you find evil the only way to
express your feeling or is it the only way to power?
As
I mentioned before, it is the fastest way to attain power,
yes.
A fan Always,
Stataris, Order of the white Robe

Dear Raistlin,
I have just been introduced into the
Dragonlance series by my friend who rants about you constantly
(keep an eye out for a lady elf mage ready to leap out from
behind a bush and glomp her role model). I am several books
into the series, and have a question that has been burning
inside me and has given me many a sleepless night.
What do you do in your spare time in
that tower of yours?
Create new spells of mass destruction? Study dark secrets?
Create dark secrets? Fireball little stand up figures of
Crysania? Throw rabbits out the top window? Burn your apprentice?
Tell me, I beg of you.
All
of the above and more. *Raistish
smile*
~Sadina Saphrite, Sorceress
and Lord of Waterdeep. Buahahahaha.
P.S. I have
enclosed twenty bucks, sixteen steel pieces, and issue
309 of Dragon Magazine. Please give them to Dalamar, who is
one hell of a poker player.
Certainly.
|
|
Dear
Raistlin,
Since
I read all the books you are in and I am a devoted fan I keep
wondering why you and Crysania never got together. You left
behind everything for your magic, I know that. But was it
worth giving up on your friends, family and a woman that loved
you deeply? Have you never regretted it?
What
friends? What family? And let me make one thing clear: I never
loved Crysania, and she never loved me. As she herself
admitted, it was her pride, her ambition, that led her to the
Abyss with me.
I
spend most of my time reading too and learning more and more
about magic. But I know that while I learn there are other
things I miss. Have you never felt that?
Not
particularly.
By
the way, would you take me as your apprentice? *grin* I am a
good student.
No,
I have no desire to accept future apprentices at this time. My
current one is trouble enough.
And
tell Dalamar that he is great, but that, I am very sorry,
golden skin is cooler.
Very
well, I shall inform him.
Signed,
Earwyn,
White Light
|
|
Raistlin,
First off, I just want to say that
the portal thing was bloody Brilliant,
Why
thank you.
however if I were you, I would have
left Crysania there
and went for the gold. Then again, if I were you, I
would have done totally different, less painful things
with Dalamar...
Now onto my question, nothing against
gully dwarves, but why exactly did you feel the need to be
nice to Bupu? I mean, in general you really aren't nice
to anyone, why her? Was it the lizard?
She
was nice to me; plus she was a gully dwarf, and I empathize
with and pity the downtrodden. No, it had nothing to do with
the lizard!
Also, aside from the tea that you
are never without, what is the best way to heal a hacking
cough?
Well,
decapitation always works…
If you were to come to this
world, what is the very first thing you would do?
Go
back to Krynn.
Crysania not withstanding, has
there ever been a girl (or a guy, who can tell these days)
that you have had romantic feelings for?
Well,
I was at least somewhat interested in Miranda, but Caramon
sort of put an end to that. *Smiles
wryly and with a touch of bitterness*
Lastly, the last letter I wrote
was one to Dalamar and it was quite a while ago. I asked
him about Kittiara, and he referred to her as 'sex on legs'.
Now I'm sure you don't feel that way about her... at least
I'll hope not. What I want to know is, what are you're
feelings for Kitiara? She was evil (not evil the way
that you are evil, mind you) but she was a dark soul.
We
had an interesting relationship. She watched out for me when
we were younger. Since then we have fluctuated between not
seeing eye-to-eye and understanding each other perfectly.
Later in life we were always more independent of each other
though.
Raven of Eddenwood
P.S.
Have you ever considered contact lenses for your 'eye
condition'? I mean you are an uber mage, it could be a
very really possibility.
You’re
suggesting that I magically enchant a pair of contact lenses
to reverse Par-Salian’s curse? I must say, this is certainly
one of the more amusing suggestions I have received.
|
|
To
Master
Raistlin
Majere;
I have read almost all of the Dragonlance books, and of all
the characters in the books, you are absolutely the best one
in them.
Why thank you.
Even
though 99.9% of the time you can be pretty rude. But that
might just be the thing that makes you so cool. But anyway, I
was simply wondering, if there wasn't magic in the world, (Age
of Mortals...) would there be any way you would love Crysania?
No. Magic or
no magic, my relationship with Crysania was nothing but a
thinly-masked power-struggle wherein we both tried to use and
manipulate each other; one can hardly call that love.
I
believe myself to be like you in many if not almost all ways,
and I love this girl who
will not be named,
but I wonder, if there was magic such as on Krynn, would i
stop caring for her?
I highly
doubt it. Love is a very powerful force, a type of magic,
perhaps, in its own right. When I heard the rumor that I
somehow had a daughter, a product of a conception that her
mother had magically wiped from my memory afterwards, I
immediately disbelieved it. What magic exists that could be
powerful enough to banish the knowledge from my heart that I
had once been loved? Not even death can do so much.
And
just one more thing. Is there true magic on Earth? Not as
strong as on Krynn, but at least some minor spells? If you
don't know I understand.
There is
definitely some evidence of magic on Earth. Why else, when you
have specifically asked a telemarketer to remove you from his
company’s calling list, does your phone number magically
reappear there three days later?
Many
thanks for reading my letter, and may the gods be with you.
You’re welcome. May
the Force…er…the gods be with you too.
Respectfully,
Casi M.

Dear
Raistlin,
I need
to know is it still possible to worship you as a god i mean
i'd love to but i need to know what your the god of. but take
your time you are god and i am just me. and you are so.
Please respond your holyiness.
If
I were to say that I am the god of Spelling/Grammar Checkers,
would you start using one?
"Twitchy"
the Dark, (never was the same after the rouge wizards kidnaped
him)

|
Dear
Raistlin,
I will
not insult you with a
poorly done black mage persona...nor shall I bash you over the
head with the flattery-club. I
will
not bother you with pointless questions.
Wow,
that’s refreshing.
I simply wish to express
my admiration of you life and my gratitude to those who have
given me the chance to know that life. I’ve taken a lot from
your many trials and tribulations, and developed a few
refreshing, if twisted, philosophies. and my sarcasm and
cynical humor grows every day.
I’m
glad to hear that I had such a positive impact.

Couple
of questions that needs to be answered came up to me the
other day, and I want them answered...
1.
what is the truth - did you turn
gold after sleeping, or during the Test?
Let’s
just say the next time you want to get some sun-tan
lotion, don’t ask Par-Salian to brew something
up.
2.
I know you are intelligent, but why
didn't you just think that you'll veer off the course of
the barren wasteland that you will rule and go and become
a god, and just coexist with others?
Coexistence
has never quite been my “thing” shall we say…
3.
How come you came to love a real
brainless (apologies to all Crysanias out there) woman? I
mean, you are standing there with a post-it note on your
forehead, saying "I am beyond redemption, I am REALLY
bad, and yes, I will use you.", and that girl just
went ranting about how she can change you into goodness.
(?!) good Raist? Nuh uh.
First
of all, I would like to make something very clear:
I do not love Crysania!!! But I will thank you for your
astute observation pertaining to her stupidity.
Furthermore, I have not had anyone put sticky notes on me
without my knowledge for nearly twenty years, thank you
very much, but if I were to display a post-it note
with your message, I would have to say it would at least
be more accurate than the “I’m a woman” post-its my
idiot classmates used to stick on me.
4.
Are you handsome or ugly? Most
pictures depict you as not the most handsome guy, but
since you are twin to Caramon, you must be looking good...
(NOT my question, my friends')
Don’t
even go there—Caramon is not a great topic to bring up
with me, especially in reference to his appearance.
5.
Did you LIKE Caramon or despise him?
Were
you paying attention to my last response?! But, yes, I
must say I do have some appreciation of Caramon; he makes
a very handsome footstool.
6.
How come everyone likes you when you
are probably the meanest, selfishest, most sarcastic, and
probably the most freaky-looking guy? (Translate: How come
people don't like you when you are witty, and looks really
cool?)
If
I knew that (and became an omnipotent god), I would
consider my life complete.
Aaannnd.... that's it
Aaannnd I’m
thankful for that.
|
|
Raist,
Just curious, but, if you were actually on Earth now, what
kinda music would you like? I'm going with either something classical-like or
heavy-metal
(*grins*)
but then again you never know.
Hmmm….
Let’s go for Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.
Another thing, what makes you so damn cool?! I mean we all
love
you to death despite your horrible, hacking cough, health
issues,
permanent, golden tan, among other things...
My, when you
put it like that, I just feel so good about myself.
Might as well bring up Caramon’s good looks and lack of
“health issues”
while you’re at it.
Let's see...
just to be annoying maybe I can think of some more
things to
ask.
You
wouldn’t happen to be part kender, now would you?
LOL.
Ohhh I was so happy about the third War of the Souls book
b/c
you were in it!!!
Yes,
I quite agree; my presence or absence can make or
break a
book.
LOL. OK I think this is enough.
So do I.
Your Loyal and
Devoted servant,
Marri-Aden
P.S.: Tell Dally (Dalamar) I said hi.
Dalamar
says that if you want to be his female admirer,
you’ll have
to
wait in line like all the rest.

|
Dear
Raistlin,
While recently practicing my musical instrument, the
oboe, I realized, Gee Hanna, you sound like crap. Do you have any
magical suggestions of how I can make
this stupid oboe sound better?
Yes, you can magically stop playing it. Silence is golden,
compared to certain other things (e.g. kender).
Also, my fish pond (which I tried to use as a summoning
pool) has turned an interesting shade of magenta, and all the
fish died.
Does this ever happen to yours?
Yes; it's always all Dalamar's fault (and even if it isn’t,
I take
my anger out on him anyway--that's what apprentices are
for, after all).
Your friend,
Hanna Katherina

I'm on Ch. 5 of dragonlance legends: Time of twins.
I haven't read further in the series at all. And I must say I
am simply shocked and
appalled by your behavior! How could you do such dirty low-down things?!
Easily; very, very easily.
You'd better reform and not remain a villain for the rest of
the series or I'm gonna get angry!
I'm quivering with fear. *wry look*

Dear Raistlin,
I am an aspiring individual that would be interested in
learning magic...and not the pitiful stuff that those like David Copperfield and
his ilk do...How
would I go about doing this or even better would you
be willing to teach me?
| | |
